Scoop a dime sized amount of Sun Wax into the palm of your hand, then use two fingers to rub the wax in a circular motion, emulsifying the wax and spreading to your fingertips. This is a simple, but critical step, as you need to warm the wax in order to properly spread it throughout your hair.

Unlike most petroleum-based hair pomades that dry out and destroy hair and scalp, our water based, activated hair wax utilizes a potent emulsion of sculpting vegan waxes, protectant fatty plant butters, and protein rich botanical extracts. Great texture off-putting smell

The texture and hold of the product are great for something a little firmer that lasts throughout the day; however, in contrast to the other Church products I have I found the smell to be strong, persistent, and quite artificial and chemically smelling. Quite a disappointment given the feel and price point of the product. The clay is great, the wax not so much.

Hey Peter, thanks for the feedback. I can assure you that it’s not chemicals you’re smelling - but I’m guessing you have an aversion to one of the plant oils in the product. In the case of the Sun Wax, each ingredient is functional, including Mimosa Flower Wax, which many love, but some don’t. Good to hear you like the Clay.

Started out using the volcanic clay pomade but didn't get the hold that I was looking for with having fine hair.

Changed to the sun wax pomade and couldn't be happier. A little pricey, but I like the clean ingredients.
