Music to work to - Psychedelic Elevator

  • 1 min read

Whether you’re working from home, working in the office, or art studio, etc., music can be a powerful way to keep the creative juices flowing.

The key is to find music that isn’t distracting. Much like listening to a podcast can derail your thoughts from the task at hand, so too can a catchy chorus or most any song with heavy lyrical content.

Many people turn to classical music while working, to stimulate their minds while not overriding them. Unfortunately, many of us don’t fully enjoy classical music.

In looking for music to work to, I find the key is to find songs that are intentionally devoid of lyrics, but are still great songs that I want to hear. One such genre is Psychedelic Rock, and there’s many other variations of it that work well too.

We create a lot of playlists at Church Barber, to set the vibe and turn our customers on to new music they might not otherwise be familiar with. Psychedelic Elevator, is our take on "music to work to" - it’s basically “elevator music” that you’d hear if you were in the elevator of a building that is high on drugs :).  Nearly completely free of lyrics, it’s great to work to, to drive to, or to zone out to while not fully zoning out.

Enjoy!
